Water Filtration - Contaminants in Water
Manganese
Q: How would the Regency II affect the manganese levels of drinking water?
A: Manganese does not present a danger to human health, nor for the environment but it is unpleasant, since the water gets a black color and a metallic taste. Therefor, it is good to have it removed. The lab tests we have seen all show acceptable or non detectable levels of Mn in the processed water. The Regency II uses an AC filter.
The Water Quality Association (WQA) reports that AC ( activated charcoal) is recognised as an acceptable method to maintain water contaminates with in the limits of the EPA National Drinking Water Standards.
