Fluoride

From information sources that relate to activated charcoal, we know that fluoride is not trapped by any charcoal filter.

From the summary of Health Canada’s subcommittee on Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality, we have a 1.5 mg/l acceptable level for fluoride. Our test report from Sucofindo Laboratory in Indonesia, shows a test result of below 0.02 mg/l using 1995 Standard Method of Testing #4500F-D. The Indonesian acceptable level is also 1.5 mg/l

Fluoride is an inorganic chemical. The MTF filter Of the Regency unit traps organic chemicals. In the Encyclopedia Britannica, fluoride is listed among the anions while sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium are listed as cations. After water has passed through the 6 stage filter, it enters the Electrolytic Cell which contains 2 chambers. These chambers are separated by layers of  membranes with holes so small that water molecules cannot go through, but large enough for the ionized  inorganic chemicals and minerals to do so. This is where the fluoride is partially removed from the drinking water and flushed out with the acidic water.

So now we know the actual ionization process will remove a good percentage of Fluoride and my guess is from 50% to 75% maybe higher but there are variables to consider. Since Fluoride is of a polarity which will pull it into the acidic flow of the water, it will depend on the power adjustment and the flow rate.

Of course there are the 'acceptable' levels but most health conscious people are not satisfied with that. Therefore, we offer an optional pre filter for those wanting the 97%+ removal.
